The eccentric Eldridge family love their house, a 250-year-old farmhouse that has been in their family for generations. It is the centerpiece of their community and a haven for all the equally eccentric neighbors who happily wander in and out of their home.

Mr. Barbary and his housing development company have been pestering the family for months to sell their beloved home, and the entire Eldridge family can't stand him. So when Mr. Barbary and his son end up trapped in the house by a violent storm, together with the Eldridges, their dog, and a kooky, crime-writing neighbor, chaos ensues—but perhaps everyone will emerge from it with a change in perspective.
