The 2008- 09 Season will mark the 76th year of community theatre in Albany. You are invited to join us as we set out to make it a very special year. If you would like to volunteer to help with our Annual Subscription Sales Drive, just contact the Theatre Albany business office at 439-7193.
Auditions
Auditions for "The Woman in Black"
by Stephen Mallaratt from the novel by Susan Hill
August 3 and 4 at 7 p.m.
The cast requires 2 men.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. |
Be A STAR!
Super Theatre Albany Recruits (STAR) is always looking for new members! If you've been an active member of the Theatre Albany cast and crew, you'll be glad to see that STAR is coming back in a big way, and you are needed. If you've never been involved with Theatre Albany, now is your chance. Come and be a part of something special!
Volunteering
Theatre Albany is always looking for volunteers to participate in the theatre. There are positions for House Manager, Concessions, Hosts, Ushers, Back Stage Support, Box Office, Lights, Sound, and Crew. Outside volunteers are needed to assist in Season Ticket sales and Advertising/Sponsorship marketing.

Donations and Sponsors
For those who wish to contribute additional support to Theatre Albany beyond the regular season subscription level, the following categories are available:
Patron
As a patron, you will automatically receive special recognition in the mainstage playbills. Your contribution is tax deductible.
Benefactor, Angel and Silver Angel
In addition to the Patron benefits, you'll receive “Advance Reservation” privileges, enabling you to reserve your tickets by phone a day BEFORE the box office opens to other subscribers.
Gold Angel
In addition to the Patron, Benefactor, Angel and Silver Angel benefits, you'll receive TWO season subscriptions.
Producer
Along with FOUR SEASON SUBSCRIPTIONS and all of the above benefits, you'll get to CHOOSE YOUR SEATS for the entire season and will be mailed your reserved seat tickets.
Sponsorships & Advertising
Each year Theatre Albany has sponsorship and advertising opportunities through the Season Ticket Brochure and the Playbill.
Brochure Advertising
Theatre Albany prints 26,000 brochures to mail out to the community, provide to our season ticket holders, supply businesses for Albany newcomers and use at the theatre to promote the upcoming season of shows. This four-color brochure highlights the shows for the season and provides important information on reservations, ticket cost and directions. The tri-fold design allows for a 8 ½" x 3 ½" vertical ad on the inside right hand read. This package also includes a full-page ad in the playbill for the entire season and 4 season tickets.
Cost: $2000
Materials Due Date:
Show Sponsor
As a sponsor of a particular show the sponsor will receive the following:
• Logo on brochure underneath the show listing (26,000)
• Full Page ad in the playbill for the season
• Logo on flyers mailed out to the community, and to all season
ticket holders (2000) and distribute at the Arts Council and the
Chamber of Commerce
• Logo in the 2500 playbills printed for that particular show.
• Logo on Posters - 100
• Occasionally the theatre will advertise the shows in the
Newspaper. If this is the case, then the logo will be included on
all newspaper ads.
• Company name included in all press releases. The newspaper
usually writes an article about the upcoming show, and will
include the sponsor's name.
• The option to have a number of tickets good for the three
week run of the show, or have an evening of the show
especially for you.
Cost: Plays - $3,000 Musicals - $5,000
Ticket Sponsor
Each year Theatre Albany prints 16,000 tickets to be sold to the general public and to be given to season ticket holders. On the back of the tickets there is an opportunity to advertise. Tickets are 1"w x 3"h.
Cost: $1000
Materials Due:
Playbill Advertiser
Each show offers a playbill to the audience. This playbill lists the cast, information about the show and the theatre, as well as has advertisements of those companies that support Theatre Albany. Attached is the size of the ads available. There are 12,000 playbills printed each year. Ads are printed in black and white.
Cost:
Full page, $700—2 tickets
½ page, $500—2 tickets/3 shows
¼ page, $300—2 tickets 2 shows
Inside front cover, $900—2 Season Tickets
Inside back cover, $800—2 Season Tickets
Outside back cover, $1,350—3 Season tickets
